Chinese Corner – Social Activity

Default Date & Time : 2nd Saturday of each month, with enough interest (8 participants), 7:30pm - 9:30pm
Default location: Iepenlaan 40, Eindhoven

How to join? : A pre-registration is a must.
Send an e-mail to info@chinaplaza.nl with your name and phone number. You will get a notification if there are enough participants.
Chinese Corner is Free of Charge for own students. Administration cost will be charged to non-students.
For special workshops, material cost might be charged additionally.

Activities:
1. Discussion (group work)
A list of interesting topics is prepared and participants can have free discussions on them in Chinese.
2. Conversation (one-on-one)
Chinese Corner provides participants with a Chinese atmosphere, in which one can easily find someone to talk with in Chinese. Try to put what you’ve learnt into use as soon as possible.
3. Experience sharing
Share your personal experience in your Chinese learning, i.e. the progress you’ve made and the major difficulties you’ve encountered, with other Chinese learners and native Chinese. Participants can either benefit from the successful cases of other Chinese learners or give suggestions to each other solve the problems.
4. Story telling
You can prepare a short story and tell it in Chinese, in front of the other Chinese learners and native Chinese. Story telling is one of the basic, as well as the best methods to improve your sense of Chinese. It’s commonly used among the Chinese kids and proved to be an effective approach in Chinese learning. Also, it’s lot of fun!
5. Cultural exchange
Typical cultural phenomenon, e.g. typical Chinese and typical Dutch, will be mentioned and related stories will be shared.
6. Partner hunting
Participants can find one or more study partners in Chinese Corner and build a long term relationship in Chinese learning.
7. Games
Different games will be introduced and one can learn new Chinese words and expressions in a relaxing and happy way! Themes:

Different months have different themes. The activities are not necessarily related with the themes, but they serve as guide lines in parts of the activities. And it is encouraging and also great if participants prepare something special for the corresponding themes, e.g. theme-related dressing, theme-related food, theme-related stories and any other theme-related ideas.
